Legal
Terms of Service
Effective: October 15, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-15
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract, or use BuzzerBeam through an organization whose authorized representative accepts these Terms. You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding access credentials, and activity conducted through your account. Company users represent that they have authority to bind their organization.
2. The service
BuzzerBeam provides trivia creation, editing, downloading, and local live-game hosting tools. Features, supported devices, plan limits, AI allowances, and player capacity may change as the service evolves. We may improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features, but material changes to a paid plan will be communicated when legally required.
3. Subscriptions, renewal, and payment
Paid plans renew automatically every month until cancelled. The price and billing frequency shown immediately before checkout are part of your order. You authorize BuzzerBeam and Stripe to charge the payment method you provide for recurring fees, applicable taxes, and disclosed charges. Failed payments may result in restricted or suspended access. Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Prices may change prospectively. When required, we will give advance notice and an opportunity to cancel before a new price applies.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may stop recurring charges online from Account Settings by selecting Manage billing & cancel subscription and completing cancellation in Stripe’s customer portal. Cancellation takes effect as shown in the portal, normally at the end of the current paid billing period. Account-closure requests do not by themselves cancel a Stripe subscription.
Except where law requires otherwise, completed monthly charges are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits for partially used periods. This policy does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
5. AI-generated and verified trivia
AI-generated questions, answers, citations, classifications, and confidence scores can contain errors. “Verified” means the system found supporting evidence under its stated process; it is not a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, suitability, or freedom from third-party rights. You are responsible for reviewing material before publishing, presenting, or relying on it. BuzzerBeam is not professional, legal, medical, financial, or educational advice.
6. Your content and submitted sources
You retain ownership of content you create and submit. You grant BuzzerBeam a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, format, and display that content as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service.
When you submit a public article or source to generate questions, you authorize BuzzerBeam to analyze that source. High-confidence generated questions and supporting evidence may be added to the verified trivia database, labeled as user submitted, and retained with the source URL. Do not submit private, confidential, unlawfully obtained, or infringing material.
7. BuzzerBeam content and license
BuzzerBeam and its software, design, branding, databases, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service and downloaded decks for personal, educational, or internal business trivia events. You may not resell access, copy the service, bypass plan limits, scrape the database, reverse engineer protected portions, or use BuzzerBeam branding without permission.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use BuzzerBeam to violate law or third-party rights; distribute malware; harass, exploit, or endanger others; generate deceptive or discriminatory material; interfere with service security; gain unauthorized access; or overload, probe, or evade usage controls. We may remove content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal compliance.
9. Copyright and complaints
If you believe content available through BuzzerBeam infringes your rights, submit a detailed notice through the account contact channel identifying the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and your authority to act. We may remove disputed material while reviewing a complaint.
10. Third-party services
BuzzerBeam relies on third parties including Supabase for authentication and data services, Stripe for billing, hosting providers, and AI inference providers. Their services may be unavailable or governed by separate terms. We are not responsible for independent third-party products or websites.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, our service providers, retention, and available choices. You are responsible for providing any notices or obtaining permissions required for information you submit about other people.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using BuzzerBeam at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, security risks, nonpayment, legal requirements, or conduct that threatens the service or others. Provisions that logically survive termination—including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—remain effective.
13. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUZZERBEAM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. We do not guarantee that generated trivia, sources, local-network connections, downloads, or third-party services will always be accurate, secure, or available.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUZZERBEAM AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO BUZZERBEAM DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify BuzzerBeam and its operator from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, your submitted content, your hosted events, or your material violation of these Terms. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own unlawful conduct.
16. Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, you and BuzzerBeam agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally for 30 days after written notice through the account contact channel. These Terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state where BuzzerBeam’s principal operator is located, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Claims must be brought in courts with jurisdiction over that location, except where consumer law provides another forum or applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and communicated when legally required. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service and cancel before the change becomes effective.
18. General terms
These Terms and incorporated policies are the entire agreement concerning BuzzerBeam. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be narrowed or removed without affecting the remainder. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, or sale. Headings are for convenience only.
19. Contact
Questions, legal notices, and account requests may be submitted through the contact and account-management tools in BuzzerBeam Account Settings. Formal business identity and mailing information will be supplied where required by applicable law.
